Advantage Sails Full comprehensive valet and repair service

Washing your sails at the end of each season will increase the life span of the sails and give them better appearances. A full valet by Advantage Sails will remove mildew, rust, oil stains, salt residue and general grime.

It is possible that some Insurance companies will insist that your sails are removed from the rig during the winter months, always check your insurance details as this may make your insurance void if you do not remove and valet your sails.

Advantage Sails valeting includes

  • A comprehensive inspection carried out by our experienced team of sail and covermakers
  • We will advise you of the condition and offer advice on the best most cost-effective solutions.
  • Wash using our In-house washing facility
  • All sails and covers will be thoroughly flushed and de-salted and then stored in our ‘sail-friendly’ secure loft
  • Repair any stitching as necessary
  • Replace UV sunstrips
  • Storage facility available until the start of the new season

    • All repair work is performed by our dedicated team of professional sail and cover makers and to the highest quality. Due to the stretching characteristics of the certain types of fabric it is not always possible to guarentee the design will remain exactly the same.

    We will always endeavour to do our best at cleaning and removing dirt and stains from the sails and covers.

    However it is not always possible to remove some grease marks and stains; especially if they have been present for a long period of time. We endeavour to completely remove all marks but it is sometimes not possible without causing damage to the material. These deep ingrained stains will unfortunately remain visible in the material.
